Magazine offers up close and personal conversations in webinar
Guam Business Magazine is celebrating 15 years of recognizing outstanding businesswomen in Guam and Saipan through its Businesswoman of the Year program.
To celebrate this momentous anniversary, in a time of Coronavirus and lack of public gatherings, Guam Business Maagazine is presenting the “Businesswoman of the Year Survival Webinar.”
Hosted by Maureen N. Maratita, publisher of the magazine, the webinar is featuring Sophia Chu Wigsten, Katherine R. Calvo, Ramona L. Jones, Mary P. Rhodes, Christine Won Pat Baleto, Jessica M. Barrett and Shirley T. Sablan.

Central Community Arts Hall begins construction
The Guam Housing and Urban Renewal Authority hosted a construction commencement ceremony for the Central Community Arts Hall on Aug. 5 in Sinajana.
Attending were (from left) Joshua Aguon of the Sinajana Municipal Planning Council; Sinajana Mayor Robert Hofmann, Janita Borja and Julia Villagomez, both of the Sinajana Municipal Planning Council; Gov. Lourdes A. Leon Guerrero; Lt. Governor Joshua F. Tenorio; Sen. Tina Rose Muna Barnes, speaker of the 35th Guam Legislature; and Raymond Topasna; executive director, GHURA.
The Sinajana mayor’s office received a grant to build the arts center in 2018 from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The $750,000 Community Planning and Development Fund grant from HUD is to provide access to the arts for the community, with little cost to residents. mbj
