With the New Year comes a new list of functions and fundraisers for the business community, with 2025 events that support all important non-profits in the islands.
Aside from party events, organizations and institutions have also already set the dates of conferences for the year.
The Palau International Coral Reef Center will hold its 24th Annual Fundraising Gala on Jan. 23, which raises funds for its activities. The Saipan Chamber of Commerce will host its Business Person of the Year Gala on Jan. 25 at the Crowne Plaza Resort Saipan.
The 2024 Guam Business Magazine Executive of the Year will be held on Feb. 1 at the Hyatt Regency Guam. The event typically has beneficiaries in Guam and Saipan.
Maureen N. Maratita, publisher of Glimpses Media, which includes Guam Business Magazine, said, “We had people double-checking the date in October and November, and began getting requests for tables in December. I can’t thank the community enough for the support.”
The Chinese Chamber of Commerce Guam will celebrate the Year of the Snake on Feb. 8 at the Hyatt. The Micronesian Conservation Coalition will host its 4th Annual Ocean Gala and MCC 10th Anniversary at the Hyatt on March 15.
The Guam Chamber of Commerce has selected March 19 for its Annual Amateur Golf Tournament and May 3 for its 101st anniversary gala.
The Guam Memorial Hospital Volunteers Association will hold its annual gala on April 5 and Salt + Light Realty will host its Safe Haven Gala on April 11 at the Dusit. The Make-A-Wish Guam and CNMI 2nd Annual Golf Tournament is set for April.
Typically, the summer months are low on galas, since a lot of people travel off-island in June and July.
For readers looking for a near-at-hand getaway during the summer, Yap will be hosting the 4th Micronesia Expo, which will run from July 21 to July 25, and will feature the cultures of all the states of the Federated States of Micronesia. Events also include a fishing tournament. The Yap Visitors Bureau has a handy annual event list on its site.
Galas will kick off again in Guam with the annual Pink Ball, which is on Aug. 9 at the Dusit Thani Guam Resort, followed by the Make A Wish Guam and Saipan Black Tie and Tennies Gala on Aug. 16 at the Hyatt.
Chita A. Blaise, CEO of the Guam Chapter of the Red Cross; told the Journal that the chapter is still finalizing its 2025 event calendar.
“Red Ball is a go,” she said, with the event on Sept. 27 at the Dusit. As to the golf tournament the organization has held in previous years, Blaise said, “That’s still under discussion.”
Victim Advocates Reaching Out plans to hold its annual gala on the second Saturday in October, with the venue yet to be determined.
As for conferences, the Marianas Tourism Education Council annual MTEC Tourism Summit in Saipan will be held on Jan. 25 at Garapan Central Park, the Guam Housing and Urban Renewal Authority’s Housing Summit on Jan. 29. The University of Guam will host its 46th Annual UOG Research Conference at the Hyatt on March 6 and 7, followed by the 7th Annual Mariana Islands Conservation Conference from March 10 to 14 at the Crowne Plaza Resort Saipan.
