Anemos Guam, the Mediterranean Restaurant which opened about a year ago, has introduced a new menu combining Italian, Greek, and Mediterranean dishes catered to both the Guam community and tourists.
With its beautiful ambience, set in an atmospheric tent in the heart of Tumon, Anemos Guam is a great spot for business meetings, special events, celebrations, or a night just to treat yourself.
The Anemos team uses local produce and fresh seafood items such as octopus, fish and other ingredients flown in twice weekly from Crete, Greece, and other European countries.
Salads range from $11 to $24. Appetizers range from $12 to $24, with seafood appetizers from $15 to $32. The main course dishes range from $18 to $160 with seafood main courses ranging from $20 to $220. Pizzas range from $15 to $20 with desserts from $14 to $22.
Anemos also has an extensive drink list with more than 50 different wines from different parts of the world to include France, New Zealand, Italy, Argentina, Australia, Spain, and California. Wine bottle prices range from $55 to $530. Anemos also offers glasses of its wines.
Chef Niko, originally from Greece who first started as an assistant chef has now become the head chef at Anemos.
Niko said the inspiration for this new menu came from comfort foods he had back home but with flavors best suited for the island, and features one of his favorite dishes of grilled octopus.
Chef Niko said the restaurant offers “a once in a lifetime experience to try something new without having to fly across the world.”
Randolph Velasco, food, and beverage director for the Baldyga Group, said the aim is to “try to make sure the price is reasonable for both the local and tourism market, without having to sacrifice quality of the food, ingredients, and overall experience.”
The main goal for Anemos is to “make sure they incorporate [food for] the local palettes.”
Anemos will soon be accepting to-go orders for quick and easy lunches such as salads and power bowls to name a few.
