The Guam Department of Revenue and Taxation sent out a statement warning the public against two fraudulent Facebook accounts claiming to provide online services for Guam DRT's Division of Motor Vehicles.
DRT officials shared a Facebook post that shows an offer to help people who haven't been able to get their licenses. "Have you been going for the exams but can't pass or are you not up to standards? We are here to help you get your driver's license without any difficulty."
The accounts made several posts advertising false services for a fee, according to the statement. DRT officials warn the public that this is a scam being facilitated through these fake Facebook Accounts.
"DRT does not approve and has not authorized the facilitation of such services," officials said. "In this regard, the public is strongly advised not to respond to these fake posts or provide any personal information to the fake accounts."
Officials are encouraging residents to report anyone who contacts them through the fake Facebook accounts to (671) 635-1840/1841. mbj
