Foreign workforce data reveals wage scales, job numbers in Guam economy
While Guam may have thousands of H-2B workers, it has hundreds of H-1Bs.
According to data aggregate site myvisajobs.com’s February 2025 figures, Guam has 476 H-1Bs, with an average salary of $69,562.

The Northern Mariana Islands has 64 H-1Bs, with an average salary of $53,556.
California tops the chart with 80,190 H-1Bs, with an average salary of $159,592, and the U.S. Virgin Islands comes in last with 16 H-1Bs, at an average salary of $59,573.
According to Guam Department of Labor statistics for August, Guam has 5,018 H-2B workers, with 4,925 of those from the Philippines.
Of the 5,018 H-2Bs, 4,772 work in construction. Of that construction number, 1,354 are listed as carpenters – 29.52%, and 1,089 – 23.74% as cement masons.
Non-construction workers number 246, and include those in the dental industry, but no nurses are listed as H-2Bs.
The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services does not publicly list Form I-129 petitions and approvals by state or territory. While the filing location for some I-129 petitions depends on the company's location, USCIS oversees the filing process, not the reporting of outcomes.
