At the July 9 meeting of the Civil-Military Coordination Council attended by Government of Guam and U.S. military personnel, the group heard from the Missile Defense Agency relative to the final Environmental Impact Study timeline, according to a July 11 release from Joint Region Marianas.
Attendees also received a “comprehensive brief on approximately $5 billion in current military construction projects and discussed collaborating on stronger legislation that would ensure support for the H-2B program for civilian and military construction projects,” according to the release.

The pair met with Rear Adm. Joshua Lasky, commander, Joint Task Force – Micronesia; Rear Adm. Brett Mietus, commander, Joint Region Marianas; Sgt Maj. Victor Milan, senior enlisted leader, JTF-M; and JRM Command Master Chief Joshua Joiner, “to discuss homeland defense, opportunities for continued collaboration and mutual support for the government of Guam, and the synchronization of operations and activities to enable a robust warfighting posture while promoting regional stability,” according to a July 9 readout from the U.S. Pacific Fleet’s Public Affairs Office.
Koehler and Davis also spoke with joint service members at the Initial Deployment Aegis Guam System, and Marine Corps Base Camp Blaz, the readout said. mbj
