Rear Adm. Gregory C. Huffman’s promotion to a two-star admiral is now official.
He was promoted on April 3 at Pearl Harbor - becoming the first two-star admiral for the region in more than a decade.
Huffman will lead the activation of Joint Task Force Micronesia. The Joint Operations Area currently includes Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia and Palau.
Some staff for the joint task force are already in Guam, according to Journal files. mbj
