Matson Navigation Co. has promoted Vic Angoco to executive vice president of operations. He will return to Hawaii from Alaska, where he was previously senior vice president for Matson.

He was formerly senior vice president and vice president for the Pacific for Matson. 

Angoco joined Matson in 1996 as Guam operations manager and has been with Matson since then, apart from two years as vice president and general manager of Young Brothers, Ltd./Hawaiian Tug & Barge from 2004 to 2006. 

Angoco holds a 1989 bachelors of business from Oregon State University.

While in Alaska, he served as chairman of the Matson Giving Alaska Committee.

Dusit Hotels & Resorts Guam announced the appointment of Carl Gagnon as regional vice president of operations and general manager of the Dusit Thani Guam Resort, as well as overseeing the Dusit Beach Resort Guam, Dusit Place and the Bayview Hotel Guam.

He was previously the area general manager for Vinpearl Resorts Phu Quoc Cluster in Vietnam and formerly managing director of LifeLogiq trading in Ho Chi Minh City.

Gagnon’s career appointments include general manager of the Fairmont Ambassador Seoul, area general manager for Accor Hotels South Vietnam in Ho Chi Minh City. Early hospitality industry appointments included food and beverage manager for Club Med from 1995 to 1998.

Gagnon holds a 1994 hospitality management degree in hotel administration and management from the Quebec Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management. He is a member of the board of directors of the Guam Hotel & Restaurant Association, and a prior member of the board of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce of Korea.

First Hawaiian Bank has named Victor Corpuz as vice president and branch manager for its Tamuning Branch. He was previously vice president and banking center manager for the bank’s Waipahu Banking Center and formerly vice president and branch manager for the bank’s Pearl City Branch. 

Corpuz holds a bachelor’s in economics from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and joined the bank in 1992.

Jeannette P. Corpuz has been named vice president and senior private banking officer for First Hawaiian Bank. She was previously a vice president and private banking officer at First Hawaiian Bank in Hawaii. Corpuz was promoted to vice president in 2021, after moving to First Hawaiian Bank in Hawaii in 2015. Corpuz began her banking career as a part-time teller with the bank in Guam. 

She holds a degree in business administration from Capella University in Minneapolis, Minn., is a Chartered Retirement Planning Counsellor and a licensed life insurance representative. 

Corpuz is a member of the Rotary Club of Downtown Honolulu, a participant in First Hawaiian Bank’s Community Care program and a prior member of the board of directors of Hawaii’s Domestic Violence Action Center. Victor Corpuz is her husband. 

Atkins Kroll Inc. announced the following appointments. 

Alexander Jones as commercial director. He previously was global business director for Inchcape and prior to that was regional brand director for Inchcape Americas. 

Jones began his career with Inchcape as a business planning analyst for Subaru in July 2011 in Santiago, Chile. He entered the auto industry as a sales field and distributor operations intern with Subaru in July 2010. 

Jones holds a bachelor’s of business administration from La Salle University in Philadelphia, Penn., and speaks Spanish.  

Douglas “Eric” Green as aftersales director. He previously was fixed operations director with Adonis Auto group, headquartered in Texas, and prior to that was service director with AutoNation of Florida, beginning his career in the automotive industry in 2022. 

Green is Automotive Service Excellence certified.

APL has appointed Michelle Quidachay as general manager in Guam. She previously was director of business development for APL and joined the company as senior account manager in 2017. 

Quidachay began her career in shipping and freight forwarding with Triple B Forwarders in 1996. She has more than 25 years of experience in shipping, logistics, and finance. 

Hensel Phelps has announced the following promotions in Guam    

Adam Noelck was promoted to operations manager.

He previously was a project manager in Greely, Colo. with Hensel Phelps and has been with the company for 17 years and in the construction industry for 21 years. 

Noelck holds a bachelor’s of science in engineering with a civil specialty from the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colo.

Grant Kim was promoted to project manager on the J-200-II North Ramp Utilities II Communication Line project. His Hensel Phelps career began in 2013, and he holds a bachelor’s of science in civil and environmental engineering from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. mbj
