Guam’s food delivery service industry, an industry that started exploding during the global COVID-19 pandemic, is growing. Quick Bites Guam has joined the likes of Good To Go, Grab N’ Grub, and Uno-Go Guam.
Devin Leones, CEO and operating manager for the newest food delivery service launched his family business on Feb. 1.
Leones said the new business has been “OK.” “We’ve been seeing … different faces as well as the different restaurants and our partners, so it’s slowly picking up as we go on.”
Leones has worked in the delivery industry for about nine years and, like many others, had dreamt of being his own boss.
“My dad and sister have experience in-call centers as well as delivery driving. So, we … put all our ideas together. We had a tremendous amount of support from family, friends, and drivers that drove under our management, and … they said, we should open up our own, offering our services here on Guam,” Leones said.
They work hard to provide “the best customer service” because he knows that’s what it takes to stand out.
“It's not mainly just dropping to deliver a nickel,” Leones said. “So, we try to come in and make small conversations with the customer and build some relationships. We want to make sure they're taken care of…”
Overall, public response has been positive.
“Some feedback from customers says our deliveries are quick,” Leones said. “We try to keep it within that 45-minute time frame. But overall, customers are happy with their service – (there’s) always smiles”
He said that feedback is critical as they work to build their business’ client list and ensure their business partners are happy with their performance.
Quick Bites Guam has 25 employees on the driver team, and currently delivers for 25 businesses on the island, including Tommy’s Pizza Shoppe in Dededo, Top Island Restaurant in Tamuning, and Manang Pika.
“It's pretty manageable, and then as we grow on, adding more restaurants, people see us, more exposure, order volume will pick up, eventually we will probably have to hire more [drivers],” he said. They currently deliver throughout the island, including military bases.
Leones said, more than “$2,000” was invested into the company, which does not include the plans to develop a website, and design an app.

“A lot of people don't realize that pest control services are required for new construction,” he said. “So, from the very beginning, before the foundation is even laid out, you want to have the pest control, reliable pest control company come in because subterranean termites wreak havoc causing a lot of property loss, property damage, and it is just anxiety of having to deal with it.”
Karen and Ken Williams originally brought the business to Guam from Australia in 2012,Washington said. He credits the Williams with building the company over the last 10 years and serving the local community through residential pest control, and commercial pest control services.
Washington told the Journal that his journey to purchasing the company was a five-month process that started in September 2022.
He said being in the real estate business actually fit well with the new acquisition.
“So it wasn't a foreign thing, just the next step and a great opportunity and timing, to be able to acquire this company,” he said.
The transition went into effect Feb. 1 and it has been “great,” Washington said. “I think we're doing pretty good,” he said. “Luckily, Ken and Karen built a great foundation for us to jump off of so I will have to say we're doing pretty good.”
The dollar region for the acquisition was “six figures,” Washington said, adding his gratitude for the support. “Thank you to the community for just embracing us with the change.”
