In a move that may develop Guam’s tourism offerings a second announcement of flights between Guam and Taiwan is coming within months.
United Airlines, in partnership with the Guam Visitors Bureau, confirmed Nov. 19 that a new service between Taipei and Guam will launch on April 2, 2025.
The twice-weekly nonstop service, scheduled for Wednesdays and Saturdays in both directions, will depart Guam at 7 a.m. and arrive in Taipei at 9:25 a.m.
The return flight from Taipei to Guam will depart at 11 a.m. and arrive in Guam at 4:50 p.m. United will operate the flights with a Boeing 737-800 with 166 seats, 16 of which are in business class.

All new flights are subject to government approval and will become available for sale on United.com and on the United app in due course, the airline said.
Taiwan has been a popular destination for regional residents, offering comparatively low hotel prices, a safe environment and a transport and taxi system to travel. The lack of direct flights made the destination less attractive.
China Airlines direct flights on the Taipei-Guam route will start from Nov. 28 and continue to Feb. 1, 2025, according to an announcement made by Chia-Ping Liu, director general, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office on Oct. 15. Continental Airlines flew the route until 2005.
United also flies from Guam to Manila, Nagoya, Osaka Kansai, and Tokyo to both Haneda and Narita. mbj
