Andersen Air Force base to see new housing by the end of 2028
Andersen Air Force base has not had enough housing for its personnel, an issue common to all bases, with about 40% of military personnel on Guam living in the community, according to Journal files.
Global Pacific Design Builders LLC of Tamuning was awarded July 8 a $297.12 million firm-fixed-price contract for the “design and construction of replacement of housing units,” at Andersen, according to a July 10 release from the U.S. Department of Defense.
Work is expected to be completed by December 2028.

The contract is for Phases IX and X at Andersen and will provide 178 housing units.
The contract was procured via the sam.gov website with four offers received and the award was made by Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command Pacific.
Global Pacific is a mentor-protégé joint venture between Core Tech International and the Kina’ole group, which is a U.S. Small Business Administration-certified 8(a) native Hawaiian group of small businesses, Core Tech told the paper. mbj
