Guam is expected to go into COR4 at 10 a.m. today, Oct. 11, according to Joint Information Center officials.
Officials in Guam and the Northern Mariana islands will be assessing damage caused by the Category 1 typhoon, which was making its way northwest of the region as of early morning.
As of 7 a.m. Wednesday, the entire region is still in COR1. Guam officials urge people to stay indoors until the all-clear is given.
Guam was in the margins of the storm, receiving tropical storm conditions. The brunt of the storm was felt in Rota and Tinian.
Guam DOE
Guam Department of Education (GDOE) classes, to include after school sports activities and the ASPIRE program, will remain closed for the day. Additional information regarding classes resuming and make-up days will be issued at a later time. GDOE employees should report to work two hours after the declaration of COR 4.
GCC Update
In preparation for the return to Condition of Readiness (COR) 4, the Guam Community College (GCC) advises that GCC employees should be ready to report to work by 10 a.m., Oct. 11. Classes will resume as soon as the campus is cleared to open. GCC students are asked to check their MyGCC accounts as well as the GCC’s social media channels regularly for updated information.

According to the Joint Region Marianas Facebook page, the 36 MDG will be closed on Wednesday, Oct. 11. They expect to resume normal operations on Thursday, 12 Oct.
Military officials urge military base patrons, to visit the JRM Facebook page as well as each of the individual military installation social media pages for all of the latest information about various closures and availability of services.
