Dafne Mansapit-Shimizu, comptroller for the airport reported to the board of directors on March 27. She highlighted the airport's financial status as of February 29.
She shared that for the month of February, revenues were below budget by 14.3%.
The actual net income for fiscal year 2024 so far outperformed the previous fiscal year, totaling $8.7 million compared to $2.4 million in fiscal year 2023.
This represents an increase of over $6 million from the same period last fiscal year.
The airport reports on the number of “enplanements”, which are all departures and transits, or anyone who has processed through the airport’s facilities. These include check-in, security-checks, concourse and gate access, and boarding. These are what their revenues are based on.
Mansapit-Shimizu noted significant growth in enplanement numbers, with 450,509 enplanements recorded as of February 2024, marking a substantial increase from the previous fiscal year's figures.
The trend indicates a 131% rise compared to last fiscal year and a 61% increase since fiscal year 2018.
Mansapit-Shimizu said, "If we continue this trend, we’re estimated to hit over 1.1 million enplanements for the fiscal year 2024. Of course that’s really great news, because we haven't seen this level of enplanements since pre-covid.” mbj
