United Airlines explains overcharge to Guam customers
According to a letter responding to Guam's Attorney General Douglas B. Moylan from Daniel Weiss, United’s managing director, Global Government and Regulatory Affairs, customers were overcharged for flights to Guam due to an “IT error” on the United website. Moylan had raised with Samuel V. Shinohara, managing director for airport operations for the Asia Pacific region, the issue of post-typhoon price gouging, after complaints by returning residents of “economy class, one-way fares in excess of $8,000,” according to the AG.
Weiss said United would respond further to Moylan “in the coming days.” His response can be read here: Dear Attorney General Moylan.
