Exercise Malabar 2025 is bringing together the navies of India, the United States, Japan, Australia and India together in Guam for one of the biggest Quad naval drills in the Pacific.
Hosted by the U.S. Navy in Guam from Oct. 28 to Nov. 8, the 29th edition focuses on “teamwork, technology, and power at sea,” according to Republic World of India.

U.S. aircraft carriers typically participate. The U.S.’s USS Abraham Lincoln, Japan’s JS Izumo, Australia’s Collins-class submarine, and India’s INS Sahyadri will take part in high-intensity drills, including anti-submarine, anti-air, and surface warfare, this year. The exercise also features cyber, AI, and humanitarian relief training.
The exercise started in 1992 along the Malabar Coast as a bilateral exercise between India and the United States, but has expanded since then. mbj
