Guam’s public schools will be closed on Wednesday as the governor takes a cautionary approach to Tropical Depression 14. The system is expected to strengthen to a tropical storm by the time it passes near or over Guam Wednesday morning with winds of up to 38 mph.

Guam is under Condition of Readiness 3 as of 3 p.m. Sept. 10, Tuesday. Gov. Lourdes A. Leon Guerrero announced that Guam would be under Condition of Readiness 3 by 3 p.m. Tuesday at what was supposed to be a proclamation signing for and closure of Department of Education schools National Weather Service Guam office meteorologists announced a tropical storm watch.
The closure is a precautionary measure for GDOE students, some of whom are typically at their bus stops even before 6 a.m.
Government of Guam and most businesses remain open. mbj
