Bank of Hawaii donated $6,000 to the United Service Organizations of Guam

The Japanese International Cooperation Agency donated a 33-footer double axel boat trailer to the Palau International Coral Reef Center as part of the Enhancement of Integrated Management of Coastal Ecosystems in Palau for Strengthening their Resilience to Climate Change project. JICA donated a 33-foot research boat in November 2022 to support activities like mangrove and sedimentation monitoring as part of the same project.

The Taiwan Economic and Cultural Office of Guam and the Tower for Humanity team led by brothers Landon and Brandon Aydlett, worked together to construct a 28-foot toy timber replica of Taipei 101 at the Agana Shopping Center.
In addition, TECO presented a $1,000 check to Be Heartfelt, which serves impoverished children and youths.

The University of Guam's Society of Emeritus Professors and Retired Scholars awarded scholarships to six UOG students for the 2024-2025 academic year. Each recipient received $1,000.
The one-time award covers two semesters, with students encouraged to re-apply.

Atkins Kroll Inc. donated $2,000 to the 6th Annual Guam International Dragon Boat Festival.
Atkins Kroll also donated a rental vehicle to the Saipan Humane Society.
The Panda Cares Foundation donated a grant of $124,396 to the Guam Memorial Hospital Authority for three specialty cribs and a GE Giraffe Incubator Carestation, valued at $48,306.
University of Guam student Garret O’Donnell has been selected for the Knauss Marine Policy Fellowship from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the National Sea Grant College Program.
O’Donnell will join the 2025 cohort of fellows in Washington, D.C. for a one-year paid stay. Base funding for a 2025 Knauss Fellow is $87,400. This covers the fellow’s salary, individual professional development and administrative costs, according to Sea Grant.
The Guam Power Authority’s more than 400 employes donated 2,827 food items to the Salvation Army and 627 toys for Alee Shelter Guam, as part of its Public Power Week events.
The Marianas Visitors Authority and LJ’s Lawncare Service teamed up to pressure wash the walkways and parking lot of the Kalabera Cave in Marpi.
The Saipan Humane Society held a two-week spay/neuter clinic in October, made possible through its ongoing partnership with the Banfield Foundation and the Mars Ambassador Program.
The initiative aimed to provide vital services to local pets, promoting both animal welfare and public health across the island. mbj
