5G connectivity is expanding in Guam and the Marianas as IT&E launches services in Garapan and Susupe in Saipan, and deploys additional sites in Guam, bringing the coverage to 70% of the island’s population.
The latest technology in the telecom industry helps boost IT&E’s network capacity to alleviate network congestion, decrease latency, and enhance user experiences for both residential and enterprise subscribers, according to the press release.
IT&E and other local and regional providers and industry leaders around the world are pushing technology to provide quicker internet speeds to meet the increasing demand. The federal government has called the internet a modern-day necessity as it has become a critical point of connection for education, work, healthcare and more.
“As we connect people, businesses, and communities to the possibilities of 5G, we are creating opportunities for growth, innovation, and enhanced quality of life for the people we serve,” David Gibson, CEO of IT&E, said in a press release.
The company recently launched Beam Plus, a service promising fiber speeds without the need for fiber infrastructure. The company has also reimagined the family plan for mobile communications as part of their overall rebranding and service changes.
IT&E is celebrating 20 years of serving the region. Gibson, who recently took the helm of the company, has told the Journal they are concentrating on expanding services and staying ahead of market trends, even as the team navigates the challenges of economic uncertainty.
