Let them eat cake! Celebrating 4th of July in Palau
From left, President Surangel S. Whipps, Jr., Palau, and Joel Ehrendreich, U.S. ambassador to Palau, cut the ceremonial cake during a Fourth of July, Independence Day celebration held at Arai, Palau on July 3. The two leaders joined U.S. Marines and Sailors from I Marine Expeditionary Force who are currently deployed in Palau as part of Operation Koa Moana. The operation works to strengthen alliances and partnerships with development of interoperable capabilities, combined operations, theater security cooperation, and capacity-building efforts, according to military officials.
