Rennie, Rudd, and Leon Guerrero make moves in the Marianas
There is never a shortage of visitors to the islands, and in the past few days Guam and Saipan have seen a variety of people flying in.
Gov. Lourdes A. Leon Guerrero spoke at the board of governors meeting of the Pacific Islands Development Bank on May 13 at the Crowne Plaza Resort Saipan. Guam’s plan for economic diversification includes a Taiwanese semiconductor chip plant at the A.B. Won Pat International Airport, Guam and ASTRO America’s 3D printing facility, which has been planned for about three years. British Consul General Paul Rennie visited Glimpses Media on May 16. Rennie is the senior representative of the U.K. government for Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands and Hawaii, as well as American Samoa, Southern California, Arizona, Nevada, and Utah. Based in Los Angeles, Rennie was making his first trip to Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands. Rennie was on the Wave 105.1 FM morning show with Pauly Suba and then met with Publisher Maureen N. The U.S. government remains officially closed and reports from the nation’s capital are that furloughs remain and firings continue. Uncertainty exists as to whether furloughed government workers will be paid.
