GUMA to re-open Maker’s Market at Guam Premier Outlets
Guam Unique Merchandise and Art will be re-opening its GUMA Maker’s Market at the Guam Premier Outlets amidst the closure of DFS Guam by March 31.
A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held on March 27 at 4:30 p.m. at GPO.
GUMA said in a statement the re-opening is in partnership with DFS Guam, Calvo Value Retail, and GPO and “reflects GPO’s new ownership by Premiere Commercial Development LLC, which aims to create meaningful opportunities for Guam’s creative and artistic small businesses.”

Monica O. Guzman, GUMA’s executive director, said the new retail space is a powerful platform for small businesses to grow and thrive, increasing visibility and access to a broader customer base.
The space will feature a curated selection of locally made products from more than 30 small businesses which underwent GUMA’s mentorship program.
Calvo Value Retail will oversee the daily operations of the market.
“This partnership reflects our commitment to supporting local enterprise and strengthening Guam’s retail landscape,” said Leonard P. Calvo, chairman and president of Calvo Enterprises Inc., in a statement, “By managing the day-to-day operations of the Maker’s Market, we aim to provide consistency, professionalism, and long-term opportunities for these small businesses to succeed.”
Moreover, DFS Guam will be donating furniture, props, signage, and design as its “final commitment” to Guam’s makers according to Senior Manager, Integrated Marketing Operations at DFS Guam James Santos.
GUMA’s partnership with DFS Guam spans more than a decade.
The GUMA Maker’s Market opened originally in DFS Guam on March 24, 2025 which initially planned to open for two months before DFS and GUMA extended its operations.
DFS Guam was also home to the GUMA Holiday Marketplace that began in 2022 which featured crafts from eight local artists and entrepreneurs during the holiday season. mbj
