The Journal verified with Naval Hospital Guam that requests for blood donors the U.S. Central Command and Operation Epic Fury are in fact genuine.

The U.S. military’s Central Command covers the Middle East and areas of Asia. Operation Fury is the name given to the campaign targeting Iran.
On April 2 the message circulating on social media and addressed to all blood types, was that 50 units of blood were urgently requested.
The Blood Donor Center at Naval Hospital said that 100 donors had stepped forward. Naval Hospital is still accepting donors and is open April 3 from 8 a.m. to noon. On April 8, blood donors are requested to donate at the United Service Organizations at Andersen Air Force Base.
According to the military health system, the Armed Services Blood Program aims to maintain an adequate supply of blood year-round for patients, but also covers needs at forward-deployed locations.
Please note blood drive attendees should have base access. mbj
