New admiral named for Guam and the islands

The admiral who will become the “senior military official” for the region when Rear Adm Gregory C. Huffman moves to lead the Joint Task Force Micronesia has been named.

According to a release from the U.S. Department of Defense on April 5, CHamoru Standard Rear Adm. (lower half) Michael B. Devore will be assigned as senior military official for Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Palau, and the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command.

Devore is currently serving as chief of staff, Naval Surface Forces/Naval Surface Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet, San Diego, Calif. mbj
