Slingstone Coffee + Tea is in expansion mode. The chain is adding an additional store and forging a new relationship for its outlets.
According to Peter Walls, co-owner, the latest Slingstone will be in Chalan Pago on Route 10, next to Song Market. The building will be 1,200 square feet and Walls told the Journal he anticipates the cost at more than $1 million once the building is finished.
“This location will include a manufacturing kitchen to produce all Slingstone Sandwich, Wraps and Croffles and will employ five baristas. Our goal is to open by March 2025,” Walls said.
The relationship with IP&E Holdings LLC will feature Slingstone in more than one Shell gas station location, Walls said.
“The IPE locations will be our mobile express drive thrus that are 150 square feet and cost will be $250,000 each once complete, as infrastructure to withstand typhoons and storage areas will be required,” he said.
The locations are the Shell stations on Route 1, Marine Corps Drive in Tamuning near Two Lovers Rd and Micronesia Mall and Route 15 in Mangilao opposite Hawaiian Rock. “These locations will add five more barista employees,” Walls said. The completion date is planned for 2026, he said.
Slingstone Coffee opened its fourth location in July in the Agana Shopping Center, it’s largest to date, featuring an open-air deck. Other locations are in Anigua, East Agana, and Barrigada.
Walls and his wife Hiroko founded Slingstone Coffee in 2017, according to Journal files. mbj
