The shelter in place at U.S. Naval Base Guam was lifted at 3:05 p.m. on Sept. 25. Navy officials instituted the safety measure at around 1:30 p.m. that day following a bomb threat.
According to the update from Navy officials, the NBG main gate and back gate were reopened for traffic.
However, NBG employees, residents, and patrons are to remain clear of Barracks 1, 2, and 3 and the surrounding areas as personnel investigate the threat.
At approximately 12:15 p.m., Sept. 25, a bomb threat was made to facilities located onboard the installation. Security Forces, emergency responders, and Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile units were activated.
