
The POWER-HDR JV of Hailey, Idaho, was awarded June 5 a $249 million “firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for architect-engineer services.”
According to a release from the U.S. Department of War, the contract provides for various electrical related projects with associated multidiscipline Architect-Engineering support services.
Work will be performed in Guam, 70%; Tinian, 1%; Hawaii, 24%; and Diego Garcia, Japan, Australia and Korea, 1% each. Work will also be performed in “other Pacific Ocean areas, 1%,” and may also include work worldwide.
The award is for a one-year base period and four option years. Work is expected to be completed by April 2031, and the award made by Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command Pacific.
HDR has a Guam office and specializes in power generation and transmission projects.
In related news, senior leadership from U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, Northern Mariana Islands met June 3 for the CNMI Stakeholders Meeting “to synchronize efforts and maintain a shared understanding of ongoing military activities throughout the commonwealth,” according to a June 5 release from the Office of Gov. David M. Atapang.
Discussions focused on issues requiring senior-level coordination, including future timelines for regional special events, joint military exercises, range usage, and environmental compliance requirements. Participants also reviewed NMI Lines of Effort and assessed current military posture, infrastructure development, and sustainment activities across the islands, according to the release.
The agenda also featured updates from the newly established Biosecurity Working Group and reviews of the National Environmental Policy Act Consolidated Plan.
The meeting’s conclusion included updates on military training activities. According to Journal files, Valiant Shield 2026, which takes place from June 22 to July 1, will see a U.S. Army detachment of approximately 250 personnel operate from North Field, with additional support from Marine Wing Support Squadron 17.
